What is a Form?

A Form is an efficient way to exchange information with your clients. You can completely customize the form fields and behavior to allow your clients easily share their information.

Remember!

Forms are available with Information based Tasks only. If you don't have at least one such task in your account already, go ahead and create one.

How to Edit and Design a Form using Form Builder?

In the following steps, we will edit and design a Form from scratch using Pragmeo's inbuilt Form Builder.

  1. From the Tasks grid, click an Information based Task.

The task types are identified by icons and you can mouse over them to ensure that you are working with the correct task type.

  2. From the sidebar on the left, click Edit Forms.

  3. From Fields List on the right, drag the required fields to the canvas.
  4. Mouse over the added field to display further options: Delete, Edit, and Duplicate.

To edit a field added on the canvas:

  1. Click the Edit icon

  2. Make the required changes in the configuration dialog, and click Close.

By using different fields you can create forms as simple as this one, and also detailed ones.

Descriptive and Interactive Fields

Some fields are descriptive, like headings and paragraphs. These fields guide the clients about different sections of the form or, maybe, how to use your form. Other fields are interactive, which means your client can change information on those fields. For example, date fields are one of the interactive fields.

Test Forms and Test Data

You can test the form to see how your form would appear to your client. In addition, you can also enter test data to verify the desired behavior of your form. Untested forms could negatively disrupt your client's workflow and, as a result, they might not share the required information.

Testing your form is a crucial step while planning its overall design and interactivity.

In the following steps, we will test a sample form with the test data.

  1. From the top of the screen, click the Test tab.

Note that in the above sample form, we have Data and Number fields, which are interactive fields.

  2. Enter sample data in the interactive fields.

  3. You can clear the test data or save this test data for future testing.

Export and Import Form

You can export your form in a JSON format and import a JSON file to populate the form fields.

To export the form:

From the bottom of the screen, click the export button. This will immediately save a file on your system in the JSON format.

To import a form:

  1. From the bottom of the screen, click the export button. This will display the Open dialog on the screen.

  2. From the Open dialog, select the JSON file from the system. This will populate the form with the file contents.

About Spreadsheets

Pragemo offers a special feature for you to gather information from your clients in the traditional spreadsheet format. You can easily add spreadsheets to your form just like any other field and configure it to suit your needs. To learn more about spreadsheets, click here.
